I started in Invercargill, moved with family to Dunedin for schooling and there joined the NZ Broadcasting Corporation in 1966 with introductory years in Radio at 4ZB/4YA/4YC, Transmission at Highcliffe, Television DNTV-2 and sound recording studios. In 1973 Transferred to 1ZB and 1ZM in Auckland moving into production with a claim to fame producing the 'NZ Top Ten' with host Peter Sinclair. In the folowing years took up positions in Napier at Bay City Radio, Wellington Head Office of Radio N.Z, 3ZB Christchurch and finally Radio BOP in Tauranga.
After 22 years of Broadcasting I moved on to take on the private world of marketing. Companies I served with Trimax Industries and set up Performance Wheels NZ. Owned Design Marketing, Gladstone Design and operated The Sound Factory a Disco business in Napier, Wellington, Auckland and Tauranga. As you can imagine music was my major interest and history a fascination. After 9 years in bus transport and the tourist industry finally found time to retire.
I married Sue when we moved to Tauranga in the late 70’s. We have 2 daughters and 1 grandson.
Other interests are golf, cycling, tramping, gardening, travel and motor sport. Now enjoying some community service at Village Radio.
