Village Radio has been on the air in Tauranga on 1368am khz since April, 1984 and is run entirely by volunteers, seven days a week. They donate approximately 250 to 300 hours per week. We play nostalgic music of the 1920's, 30's, 40's 50's, 60's 70's and 80's.
Our listening audience is mainly the older generation, housebound and the sick or listeners that prefer easy listening with no commercials. We have one of the largest vinyl record collections in New Zealand. We also have many museum pieces relating to broadcasting and radio.
Village Radio is involved with the community by broadcasting Community Notices each weekday at 11am and interviewing local personalities.
Help Village Radio!
We are in need of monetary assistance. Our situation is dire. We missed our funding opportunity with COGS due to unforeseen circumstances. We have partnered with www.givealittle.co.nz to enable us to collect funds in a hassle free and secure environment. If you can help, all we are asking for is anything you can spare. A one-off payment is certainly appreciated, but you can also subscribe to regular weekly donations, if you prefer. This will help greatly for our on going costs of running Village Radio. A receipt will be provided by givealittle.co.nz for tax purposes when you are finished.Bank Details Below
