Volunteer Profile

My name is Penny Vaughan and I grew up in Hawkes Bay surrounded by a very musical family. My parents, four brothers and I loved to have a sing song around the piano and were often joined by neighbours and an assortment of instruments. Great fun was had by all.

With a dad that sang at Inglesides, brothers who were Barbershop singers I joined sweet Adelines back in 1995  and have enjoyed singing Acapella ever since.

I work for Waipuna Hospice as an assistant retail manager two days a week. 

Thanks to my daughter Kate who was a volunteer here on Village Radio I am now loving being part of The Team, bringing all the wonderful music we have at our fingertips into everyones' homes during my show on a Monday.
