Volunteer Profile
Julie Green
Announcer/Panel Op
Tauranga Born and Bred I went to Otumoetai College where Bob Addison taught music, he was a great man. I then trained as a nurse in our local hospital in the late 70s and continue with private nursing these days. I learnt music and dancing as a youngster and love what they do for the soul.
Married to John at 19, we have a large family who have stayed nearby as adults and parents themselves, we are loving the grandparent role. I have family (and now part time work) connections at The Elms Te Papa and for a few years have been on the committee of Tauranga Historical Society which among other things cares for BrianWatkins House Museum in Elizabeth Street. I enjoy local and family history and took up Rock and Roll dancing a few years back.
My newest challenge has been learning how to bring lovely nostalgic music to the ears of the listeners out there, so good for my 66 year old brain. I am learning more about music of yesteryear and really appreciate the uplifting and encouraging manner of all the other volunteers.
A special thanks to Steve for sharing his time to train me.
